Material:
Potatoes: 2-3 medium sized ones
Onion: 1 medium (chopped)
Flour: 2-3 tablespoons
Egg: 1 (beaten)
Salt and pepper: appropriate amount
Oil: for frying

Prepare the potatoes:

Peel the potatoes and cut into chunks. They are then cooked in boiling water until they are tender. This usually takes about 10-15 minutes.

Potato processing:

Remove cooked potatoes and place in a large bowl. Mash the potatoes or crush them with a masher.

Mixing ingredients:

Add the chopped onions, flour, beaten eggs, salt and pepper to the mashed potatoes. Stir well until all ingredients are well combined.

Form into cake shape:

Using your hands, take a portion of the potato mixture and shape into a flat disk. Make sure they are evenly thick so they cook evenly when frying.

Fried hash browns:

Heat oil in a pan. When the oil is hot, carefully add the hash browns to the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown on both sides.

Drain excess oil:

Use paper towels to absorb any excess oil from the surface of the hash browns.

Enjoy:

Plate the fried potato pancakes and serve them with yogurt, tomato sauce or other sauces to add flavor.

Tips:

If you like more spice, add minced garlic, cilantro, or other favorite spices.
You can also add other vegetables to potato pancakes, such as carrots, peas, etc., to add texture and nutrition.
To make hash browns even crispier, you can lightly dust the outside of the hash browns with some flour or bread crumbs before frying.

Potato pancakes are a delicious and nutritious dish. Potatoes themselves are rich in carbohydrates, fiber and vitamins, and the other ingredients they are paired with further enhance their nutritional value. Whether you’re craving a delicious breakfast or need a simple yet satisfying lunch, hash browns are an ideal choice.
