The height and firmness can be adjusted via zippers on both sides of the pillow. Our team is very curious about Marlow pillow. During the week-long test, we recorded the pillow’s performance in terms of smell, firmness, and temperature regulation. Finally, we put together the results and tell you who the Marlow pillow is or is not suitable for. let’s start!

Odors

Marlow pillow is delivered to you compressed in a box. The pillow expands quickly after unpacking it. You will smell a slight chemical odor. This is normal and the smell will disappear after a day.

Hardness

Overall, the Marlow pillow is medium-firm. It can be zipped up if you prefer higher loft or a tighter pillow. If you like to sleep on your stomach, you can unzip the pillow to make it looser and flatter.

Sleeping Style

It is very comfortable to sleep on your side with the Marlow pillow. Side sleepers need plenty of support, so I zipped up the sides. The first night, I thought the height was about right. But in the back I chose to zip up only one side. If you’re smaller like me or have narrow shoulders, you can just zip up one.

Marlow pillow is suitable for back sleepers. While April was sleeping on her back, she unzipped both sides of the pillow. Shredded memory foam is easier to compress, but the Marlow pillow is more like a down alternative pillow. Without the slow-moving feel of memory foam, this pillow is fluffy and responsive.

Side sleepers may find the Marlow pillow a bit high. Even though Eric had kept the zippers open on both sides, the loft still didn’t fit. Additionally, he mentioned that he felt the teeth of the zipper while sleeping.

Temperature Regulation

Among memory foam pillows, the Marlow pillow won’t let you sleep hot. Shredded memory foam and gussets on the sides both promote air circulation. As a heat sleeper, Eric also said he didn’t feel hot at night. But this pillow doesn’t feel noticeably cool to the touch.
