The cold winter months are when electric blankets come in handy. Cold sheets? nonexistent. The bed was very warm covered with electric blankets. Electric blankets generate heat because of the wires underneath the fabric. Most people are nervous about cleaning their electric blanket. Fortunately, most electric blankets are machine washable. You don’t need to worry too much. Just read the care instructions carefully before washing.

1 Unplug the blanket’s cord and controller. Do not allow the power cord or controller to come into contact with water as damage may occur. It is worth mentioning that we can carefully check whether there is any wear. If there are exposed wires, it’s time to replace your electric blanket.
2 For localized stains, we pre-clean. Apply detergent to the stained area and gently scrub away the stain with a toothbrush.
3 Fill a bathtub or sink with warm water. Add mild detergent and stir to create a lather. Submerge the entire electric blanket in water, making sure every fold is cleaned. Let the electric blanket sit for ten minutes.
4 Change the bathtub with clean water and wash the blanket. Until the soap on the blanket is removed.
5 Remove the blanket from the tub. Gently press on the heating blanket to drain excess water. Note, please do not twist the heating blanket. Finally hang the blanket to dry. Allow the blanket to dry completely before using it again.

1 Whether hand or machine washing, the first step should be to unplug the blanket.
2 Check the blanket for any visible stains. Spot treatment of stains. Likewise, pre-clean local stains with the help of a toothbrush and detergent.
3 Place the electric blanket in the washing machine. Wash with cold water and mild detergent. It is best to choose gentle washing mode and cycle for three minutes. If possible, choose low speed mode when rinsing.
4 Place the rinsed electric blanket in the dryer. Choose low heat or blow-dry only mode to dry the blanket for 20 minutes. Take out some damp electric blankets, place them on a clothes drying rack, and let them air dry naturally.
How often should you clean your electric blanket?
How long it takes to clean your electric blanket depends on how often you use it. If your electric blanket is machine washable, you can clean it every few weeks. If you don’t use it often, you can clean it every few months. Again, check the care label carefully before washing.
