How to clean the living room?

1 Collect garbage
First, we prepare a large garbage bag. Get rid of the most obvious trash in your living room, such as discarded wrapping paper. Spend a little more time sifting through the less commonly used items. Throw away or donate items that are worn out and will no longer be used. In the living room, the trash can is usually in a hidden corner. Don’t forget to clean your trash can regularly to ensure fresh air.

2 Organize clutter
Put the sundries that do not belong in the living room into baskets first, and then return them to their original places. Fold the throw rug on the sofa and put it in the closet. Or check the blanket’s care label and wash it. Don’t forget the books on the coffee table and put them back on the shelf.

3 Dust removal
Dust removal is the core part of living room cleaning. Use appropriate dusting tools such as microfiber cloths and dusters. Thoroughly clean furniture surfaces and other neglected areas to avoid dust accumulation. Wipe hard surfaces such as door frames, picture frames, coffee tables, etc. with damp microfiber for better results. A duster can be used to clean hard-to-reach areas like curtain rods.

Turn off the TV to clean the screen. Use dry microfiber to slowly wipe away the dust. For stubborn stains, wipe gently with a dampened microfiber cloth. Never spray water or other cleaning solutions directly onto the screen.

4 Clean sofas, armchairs and other seats
Sofas and other seats are the main places where family members rest. It is especially important to keep these seats clean. If the sofa cover is removable, please wash according to the care label. Place the cushions back on the sofa and vacuum with an upholstery attachment. The stain on the sofa requires spot cleaning. For information on how to clean fabric and leather sofas, you can refer to the Sofa Cleaning Guide.

5 Clean chandeliers and ceiling fans
Move on to chandelier and fan cleaning. These decorative items are a hiding place for dust and cobwebs. Use a soft cloth to clean the surface of the chandelier. Pay attention to safety and make sure the power is turned off. Fans need to regularly remove the blades for cleaning to ensure smooth air circulation. Choose a glass cleaner or homemade cleaner to clean your windows. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water, add a few drops of detergent and stir. Fill a spray bottle with the cleaning solution and spray evenly onto the glass. Use a newspaper or sponge to wipe the windows in a circular motion.

Most people neglect cleaning their curtains. However, curtains and blinds can be the hardest hit areas for dust accumulation. No need to disassemble it, clean with the help of a handheld vacuum cleaner. For blinds, you can also clean its slats with a soft cloth.

7 Clean the floor
Finally, cleaning the floor is the finishing touch to the entire cleaning process. If you want to clean your carpet, start by shaking out most of the stains outside. Then start the carpet cleaning machine or call a professional to clean it. Vacuum stone, hardwood and tile floors and mop with a well-wrung mop. Wait for the floor to dry completely before replacing the carpet.

The living room is large and difficult to clean. Doing regular maintenance can save a lot of time, such as vacuuming once a week. Also, perform a comprehensive cleaning every three to four months. (Follow the Appeal Steps) I hope this article was helpful.
