Breville Bread Maker Review

I have tested a lot of Breville products and basically they never disappoint me. Their professionalism in kitchen appliances is worthy of recognition. I personally like to eat bread. I have tried making it myself, but the results were not satisfactory. I could not control the degree of fermentation and heat of the bread, which resulted in the final taste of the bread not being very good. But the bread machine completely frees my hands. I only need to pour in the flour and some ingredients.

This time I’m reviewing Breville’s Bread Maker. There are many bread makers on the market, but Breville’s always attracts me at first glance. I admit that its appearance is really well designed, and the bread crust can be customized the color and size. We tested its capabilities in detail, so read on!

Needless to say, its appearance design is Breville’s classic stainless steel design without excessive decoration. The less-is-more design concept allows Breville to reach its extreme. This is one of the reasons why I like Breville products the most, no matter where it is placed. Wherever it goes, it won’t be too overwhelming, yet sophisticated enough to match any style of kitchen.

In addition to the bread machine, it also comes with two pulps, a foldable pulp that can be used for dough, a fixed pulp only for jam use and a bread tin that is placed inside the bread machine.

The top of the product is an operation panel. The operation panel is fully functional. You can choose customized recipes, as well as the color and size of the bread crust. The entire operation of bread is very simple, easy to understand, and easy to operate.

Performance

I tested the Breville Bread Maker by making two types of bread, a classic toast that we often have for breakfast and a garlic bread inspired by a menu item I wanted to try. I wanted to see if the machine could recreate the taste of classic toast found in bakeries.

Classic Toast

I simply poured the necessary ingredients into the bread machine and set the crust color to a medium shade. When the machine started operating, there were some noises as the dough was flipped inside. While most bread machines cannot be completely silent, the noise was acceptable to me as I preferred not to knead the dough myself.

After an hour of fermentation, the dough was ready for baking. Honestly, the sides of the bread were perfectly toasted, achieving the desired browning. However, the top of the bread looked more steamed than baked, and the shape wasn’t as full as I expected. Nevertheless, the taste was good, with a crispy crust and a soft interior.

Garlic Bread

This bread was recommended in the bread machine recipe book and required garlic sauce and whole wheat flour. Given my skepticism about the machine’s recipe professionalism based on previous reviews, I was curious to see if it could produce tasty specialty bread.

I poured garlic sauce, whole wheat flour, and yeast into the bread machine. Again, I set the crust color to a medium shade. There was still the sound of the dough rolling midway through the process, but this time, as it was whole wheat bread, I expected a better fermentation than with regular flour.

As expected, the result was impressive. The whole wheat garlic bread was fluffier than the classic toast, with an even and well-browned outer layer. The bread had many air pockets, providing a soft and airy texture, while the garlic aroma added layers of flavor.

Cleaning

Cleaning the bread machine is also relatively convenient. Since it only has an internal bread pan, you can easily remove it after use for cleaning. Wipe it with warm water and dish soap. Occasionally, you may encounter dried bread crumbs inside that are hard to remove. In such cases, you can add warm water and let it soak for a while; the crumbs should be easy to wash away after soaking.

Is it worth to buy?

This bread machine, overall, is quite standard without any particularly outstanding features. However, if you’re looking for a bread machine with a balanced design and functionality, it is undoubtedly a great choice. It offers straightforward operation and provides various bread recipes for reference. The bread it produces is also quite good, allowing you to create unique loaves to share with your family.
