The design of HA1 is very simple. Like other non-stick pans, the black pot bottom and silver stainless steel handle look very professional. There is All-clad’s iconic logo on the bottom of the handle, and the straight and slightly inclined handle ensures that it can be grasped firmly when cooking. There is also a small handle to help you pour the food out easily without burning your hands.
The side design is not the usual trumpet-shaped pot edge like ordinary pot noodles, but is steeper, which can prevent more oil from splashing out. But for me, it kind of makes it harder to pour the food out.
The bottom of the pot has a silver steel plate, which not only allows you to safely survive in the oven at temperatures up to 500 degrees Celsius, but is also compatible with any stove and improves the durability of the pot.
Materials and construction
What is worth mentioning is its material. You may ask why it is called HA1, because it is made of HA1 aluminum, which is hard anodized. This material will be smoother and more durable than ordinary non-stick pans, and has strong corrosion resistance. But it will also cause it to be thicker than an ordinary non-stick pan, which means it will be a little heavier than an ordinary non-stick pan. But its thermal insulation is very strong.
Don’t underestimate the steel plate at the bottom. Its addition allows you to use it on any stove, even induction cookers. Some aluminum cookware is not compatible with induction cooktops.
Performance

In fact, the function of non-stick pans, as the name suggests, is its non-stick properties. Most non-stick pans on the market can reach the passing mark because the current non-stick technology is very mature. But the characteristic of HA1 is that it can stay non-stick longer than ordinary non-stick pans.
I know that when buying it, people are more concerned about its non-stickiness, so I used eggs and steak to test its non-stickiness.
Egg
We sprayed a thin layer of olive oil on the bottom of the pan. This is actually more dangerous because the eggs are extremely easy to stick to the pan, especially when there is little oil. But a professional can also better test its non-stickiness.
After the oil is hot, I quickly break in an egg, and the pan starts to react quickly. I like to eat eggs fried on one side, so after frying for a few minutes, I need to add a little water to use steam to heat the eggs on the other side.
The eggs turned out perfectly, didn’t stick to the pan, and were slightly burnt on the bottom, but I like eggs like this.
Steak
After putting the butter in the country, place the two steaks flatly in the pan. A reaction occurred quickly in the pot, and the surface of the steak began to darken due to the Maillard reaction. It is worth mentioning that the steak on the outside of the pot did not suffer from uneven surface heating due to the heat. The heat of the entire bottom of the pot was It’s relatively average, so you don’t have to worry about one side of the steak being undercooked due to the heat.
Cleaning

Cleaning a nonstick pan is as simple as washing it with a rag and dish soap. Although the material of this HA1 is much more durable than ordinary non-stick pans, it is best not to put it directly into the dishwasher. It is best to wash it by hand, and avoid the use of some metal and corrosive cleaning products, so as to keep it The service life is longer.
Is it worth to buy?
Its functionality is very superior and the price is relatively reasonable. But you also need to consider that it is heavier than a regular non-stick pan, so you need to consider whether it is convenient for you when cooking, which is also related to your safety. In addition, it is a commendable non-stick pan in terms of functionality, durability, and handle design. If you are looking for a stainless steel pot with a price that is proportional to its quality, this one would be a good choice.
