Step 1 No matter what method you use to clean lipstick stains, the first step is always the same. Oily or waxy substances cause part of the lipstick to solidify on the surface of clothing. We can use the edge of a credit card or a dull knife to scrape off the solid pieces of lipstick.

Step 2 Check the care label. Before washing your clothes, read the care label carefully. Clothes made of certain materials can be damaged by certain chemical components.

Please note:
Do not use enzymatic detergents on clothes made of silk, wool, or cashmere.
Do not use  chlorine bleach on wool or satin.

Step 3 Pretreat the stain. Apply stain remover to lipstick stains. If you don’t have a solvent-based stain remover, you can use an enzyme-based laundry detergent. Gently rub the stain with a soft-bristled brush or your fingers. After wiping, wait 15 minutes. Let the stain remover or laundry detergent do its work.

Step 4 Prepare a basin of hot water (the temperature the fabric can withstand). Soak the garment in water and gently rub the stained area. If the lipstick stain is not completely removed, you can add appropriate laundry detergent and rub again.

Step 5 Rinse away any remaining detergent with clean water. Tumble dry or line dry clothes according to care labels.
